Project summary
Patients with heart failure often suffer from poor overall fitness, poor post-hospital recovery, and are at high risk of hospital readmission. In CardiacCare@Home, researchers, in consultation with patients, clinicians, companies and societal organisations, are developing technology to monitor heart function and promote rehabilitation within the home environment. Deterioration of cardiac function precedes clinical complaints. By detecting deterioration of cardiac function at an early stage, clinicians can quickly adjust treatment and, as a result, prevent hospitalisation. The aim is to improve patients’ quality of life, reduce the workload for hospital staff, and reduce overall healthcare costs for cardiac patients.
