(BSL3) Safe solutions for research into global threats by infectious diseases
Project summary
The world is increasingly confronted with new infectious disease problems, and research is essential to be able to predict, detect, treat, control and prevent major outbreaks and pandemics. To study the most dangerous pathogens, special facilities are needed, operating according to the highest international biosafety and biosecurity standards. The novel research lab facility in Rotterdam was designed to meet these standards, and to facilitate research to multiple teams simultaneously, thus providing unique opportunities for excellence in infectious disease research.
Impact
This facility offers unique opportunities for high-quality research into infectious diseases in order to be able to predict, detect, treat, control and prevent large outbreaks and pandemics.
