U-Diet
Project summary
U-diet is a diet and lifestyle program, developed during 6 years of research at the Erasmus Medical Center. It is based on a very low-calorie diet with meal replacements, plus a controlled 4-phase approach to a healthy and sustainable diet, using (cognitive) behavioral therapy to maintain this good pattern. This scientifically based approach has proven a long-term positive effect on weight, insulin use and quality of life in people with type 2 diabetes. The program will be supervised by dietitians and lifestyle coaches.
Impact
To reach more people with type 2 diabetes, we want to launch the ‘U-diet’ service in collaboration with the Diabetes Fund, whereby the existing program is supported by a U-diet app with videos, infographics, chat function, motivational messaging service, recipes and motion meter.
